In this blog
I'm gonna be talking about a chapter in Frank J. Sulloway book on birth order called "Birth order and sibling competition."He talked about how birth order effects the family.Sulloway makes very good points on how the birth order can help distinguish the differences among siblings. He says that first born will act as a surrogate parent toward there younger siblings. This isn't true for my family since my middle sister acts more like parent to me in helping me out and doing things around the house for my mother. He also writes that first and last born benefit from parental investment. That wouldn't be true for my family since my parents try to give all three of us a good life. He also says that last born receive parental favoritism. This is true since I am a last born and receive some kind of special treatment from my parents. They are alway helping me out with things and always trying to go out of their way to give what I want. They are always giving me spending money when I need it and my older sisters always are jealous for what my parents do for me.
